If you have been keeping a close eye on DARKUS lately, especially on social media, you will know that we believe in the visibility of LGBTQIA+ artists across all different forms of creative outlet. With it being Pride Month here in the UK, we wanted to take the opportunity to introduce you to trans non binary artist Crimson from Brighton. In May, Crimson released the track, Would You Like It.
A track which sees Crimson open up a very raw and vulnerable conversation about the way that way that others who lead us along, go about their life all smiles and roses, while we are expected to watch from the shadows. Sometimes it is so easy to brush things off, but what I like about Crimson and this song in particular is that the hurt is tackled head on, giving a voice and safe space for that internal pain to be addressed. Yes it does feel raw, but at the same time finding that confidence to just speak truthfully is really empowering too.
