The world of emerging music has a new name to welcome with open arms as we introduce you to Black Iris. A musical projected based in Ireland, at the end of May they released their latest song, The Maze. Having already released a string of other great tracks, this latest song sees Black Iris push themselves in a quest to open their music to even more new audiences.
Focusing on The Maze itself, I really do admire and respect the rawness, honesty and depth within the songwriting. It feels as though that not only are Black Iris speaking from the heart, but they are also inviting us into a their inner thoughts and feelings too. For any listener, especially anyone who can resonate with those internal struggles and conversations of our own minds caused by the highs and lows of life, you can take a song like The Maze and find it quite comforting because Black Iris are just keeping it real which adds to the impactful nature of this beautiful song. A prime example being lyrics such as ‘Don’t look at me like I am full of sin, or bet on me if you want to win, this naivety must end now’.
What I also really enjoy about this song is how they have gone that extra mile and created an animated lyric video which really helps you to visualise what The Maze would potentially be represented as in a tangible form.
