Trying the New HAUS LABS Atomic Shake Sheer Shades - Here's the Honest Verdict

Okay, can we talk about the eternal glossy lip struggle for a second? You put on the perfect gloss, it looks amazing for approximately four minutes, and then it's gone - smudged on your coffee cup, your water bottle, your straw, your life. If you know, you know.

So when HAUS LABS dropped three new sheer shades of their cult favourite Atomic Shake Lip Lacquer, I had to test them out. And honestly? I'm kind of obsessed.

The Shades

There are three new sheer options and they're all so wearable:

  • Sheer Blush - a mauve pink that's giving quiet luxury

  • Sheer Petal - a peachy pink that's basically "your lips but better"

  • Sheer Sienna - a caramel brown for that your-lips-but-cooler moment

They're designed to enhance your natural lip colour rather than cover it up, so think "your lips but slightly more done" energy - perfect for those days you want to look put together without looking like you tried too hard.

What It's Actually Like to Wear

Here's my honest take: the texture feels a little unusual when you first apply it. It's not your typical gloss feel, so don't be alarmed if your first thought is "wait, what is this." Just give it a second.

Because once it dries down? That lip color is not moving. Like, at all. You could genuinely go about your entire day - eating, drinking, talking, existing - and it stays put. This is not one of those "long-wearing" claims that quietly falls apart by lunch. It actually holds up.

One tip from experience: keep an oil cleanser on hand for the end of the night. This formula has serious staying power, which is exactly what you want during the day, but it means a regular face wash isn't going to cut it when you're ready to take it off. An oil-based cleanser melts it right off, no scrubbing required.

The Technical Bit (Why It Actually Works)

The formula is built with Marine Algae Extract, a Shine Boost Complex, Filling Spheres, and flexible film-forming polymers. Translation: it's not just sitting on top of your lips looking pretty - it's actually helping keep them hydrated while giving that fuller, smoother look. The lacquer itself feels weightless, resists feathering (so no lipstick creeping into your lip lines), and gives you that glassy, waterproof shine that can survive a beach day or a sweaty summer night out.

How to Apply It

It genuinely could not be easier:

  1. Shake it

  2. Apply one thin layer

  3. Wait 15 seconds for it to set

That's it. No layering, no touch-ups needed for hours.

Final Thoughts

If you're the type who reapplies gloss every hour on the hour, this might genuinely change your routine. Yes, the texture takes a second to get used to, but the payoff - a glossy, plumped-up lip that survives literally everything - is worth it. This is easily one of my favourite lip product discoveries this summer, and I don't say that lightly.
