Doughnation in Covent Garden Delivers on Charity

Doughnation, a pizza spot tucked into Covent Garden’s busy Henrietta Street, combines artisanal pizza with a charitable mission. A portion of profits from every pizza supports causes like women’s farming cooperatives in Africa and community hubs in the UK. It’s a commendable concept—pizza with purpose—which adds a feel-good element to your visit.
The setting is convenient and pleasant, with a relaxed indoor space and an attractive outdoor terrace perfect for summer evenings. Still, while the location works well, the restaurant itself doesn’t particularly stand out in a neighbourhood already filled with solid dining options.
Pizza here is generally good. The dough is crisp and well-made, and the toppings range from traditional Margherita and Pepperoni to more adventurous options like Nduja Sausage and Truffled Mushroom. The crust dippers—especially the basil pesto—are a nice touch that elevate the overall experience.

That said, our experience with the Potato Pizza was underwhelming. At £18+, it felt overpriced for what arrived: a fairly bland dish served on what looked like a metal tray, more suited to a school lunchroom than a premium meal. The presentation clashed with the price point, and the flavour didn’t do much to justify it either. You expect more care, both visually and in substance, when paying that kind of price for a single pizza.
In short, Doughnation is a decent place for a casual pizza, especially if you value its charitable mission. But aside from its good intentions, it doesn’t quite rise above the many other options in the area. It's a place you might try once, but it’s unlikely to become a go-to.
