After 10 years together, The Vamps were back to perform their anniversary tour across the UK, and it is not a night you want to forget.
Brad, Connor, Tristan and James stepped on stage at Newcastle’s city hall this month to give their loyal and still huge fan base a memorable night full of nostalgia and love. Kicking off the night with their hit single Wild Heart the crowd were filled with energy. If you closed your eyes you’d think you were back in 2014 again. With Simpson’s encouragement he still never fails to get the crowd going.
As with every show I have attended, Tristain absolutely killed it with his epic 3-minute drum solo paired with fantastic graphics and flashing lights to create an incredible atmosphere. This is and has always been an iconic segment of their show, putting a spotlight on the drummer's immense talent.
The show also included an acoustic segment where the band created a more intimate environment while they performed slowed down versions of some of their hits. One of these songs being Jack, a song which truly emphasised the show being for the fans who have stuck by the band for years. This unreleased song, which has never been played live before, is a fan-favourite and filled the crowd with such joy as they sang their hearts out to every lyric.
Brad’s family sat a couple rows in front of me and when he gave them a heart-felt shoutout the crowd applauded them. This made the Newcastle show feel even more special, with Brad even putting on a Newcastle United shirt in the second half of the gig. It’s safe to say the crowd went WILD.
After an incredible 2 hours, The Vamps ended the show with their hit single Somebody To You where everyone was encouraged to live in the moment, dance the night away and sing their hearts out one last time. It was an emotional evening taking us fans back to a decade ago where it all began.
The show was supported by an amazing young band ‘SOAP’ and the incredibly talented female artist Talia Mar who both got the crowd pumping ready to give it their all and sing their hearts out when The Vamps made their way on stage.
I myself have been a huge fan of the band since I first saw them perform at Sound Waves festival in South Shields all the way back in 2013 when they first became a band. I truly feel as though I have grown up with this band, this gig definitely pulled at my heartstrings.
The show didn’t stop there though, in true The Vamps fashion the crowd left the venue still singing their hearts out to their hits and chanting down the streets of Newcastle to make their way home after a night they definitely won’t be forgetting any time soon.
