The Forest Side: A Culinary Journey Like No Other


Located in the beautiful and breathtaking Lake District, The Forest Side is renowned for its delicious cuisine led by head chef Paul Leonard. As well being regarded as the hidden gem of Cumbria, The Forest Side has rightfully been acknowledged as part of the UK’s Top 100 restaurants.


With passion and a love for food being the very soul of The Forest Side, this February, sees the venue introduce guests to a special experience like no other as it welcomes a number of guest chefs to join Paul in the kitchen for some once in a lifetime menus which are not to be missed.



Beginning on Monday 6th February 2023, Kenny Atkinson, chef patron of House of Tides (Newcastle’s only 1 Star Michelin Restaurant) will be taking a visit to The Forest Side, as both Paul Leonard and Kenny Atkinson take their shared love of modern British cooking and elevate it to new heights.



On Monday 13th February, diners will be in for an extra treat as Tom Shepherd, chef patron of 1 Michelin starred Upstairs by Tom Shepherd in Staffordshire and Paul Proffitt from the 2 Michelin Star Henne Kirkeby Kro in Denmark join forces.



Meanwhile on Monday 20th February, James Knappett from London based 2 Michelin Stars restaurant Kitchen Table brings his magic and countless wealth of knowledge and experience to The Forest Side, having worked at some of the world’s most renowned restaurants over the years.



The celebrations conclude on Monday 27th February as Glasgow-born Mark Donald, from 1 Michelin-starred Glenturret Laliqu, where flavor and refining the meaning of gastronomy are very much at the core of what makes it such a special and unique place.



With a full all–star line up of Kenny Atkinson, Tom Shepherd, Paul Proffitt, James Knappett, Mark Donald and of course not forgetting, The Forest Side’s very own Paul Leonard, the next 4 weeks are destined to be a truly phenomenal experience as guests are taken on a culinary journey unlike anything they have witnessed before.
