Ruel at The Roxy Theater in Los Angeles

On August 8th, Australian singer-songwriter Ruel took the stage at The Roxy Theater in Los Angeles, delivering a memorable performance that showcased his growth as an artist. The intimate venue was the perfect setting for Ruel to connect with his audience, a relationship that has only deepened since he first performed there in 2018.

Ruel’s setlist was a well-curated mix of fan favorites and newer tracks, blending the nostalgia of his earlier hits like “Younger” and “Dazed and Confused” with fresh singles. He also treated the crowd to heartfelt covers, including “Hollywood,” written by his friend Tobias Jesso Jr., and powerful renditions of “Kiss Me” and “Call Out My Name”, both of which he performed on the piano. These tracks are part of his latest project, Adaptations, which fans can enjoy on all major streaming platforms.

The energy Ruel brought to the stage was electric, reaffirming his status as a natural-born rockstar. His charisma and stage presence were matched by the enthusiasm of the crowd, creating an atmosphere of mutual appreciation and excitement. Ruel took a moment to thank his longtime fans who have supported him since his first LA show at The Roxy, expressing his gratitude for their continued loyalty.

In a heartwarming moment during the show, Ruel’s team surprised his keyboard player, Beau Golden, with a cake to celebrate his birthday. The celebration added an extra layer of joy to the evening, highlighting the close-knit dynamic of the band.

As the night drew to a close, Ruel teased the audience with the promise of new music, hinting at the upcoming release of his next album. Based on his performance, it’s clear that whatever Ruel has in store will be worth the wait.
