Continuing his ongoing streak of music releases in 2020, lo-fi artist Powfu has released his new 8-track EP, some boring love stories pt. 5. From the acoustic driven and lyrically optimistic “silver linings,” to the punk/electronic sounds and freestyle rapping on “clash of the titans,” the EP showcases Powfu’s evolving sonic palate and his signature relatable storytelling. The EP serves as a continuation of parts 1-4 that he has steadily released over the last 2 years, growing his fan base with each and every music drop.
Powfu adds: “This is my favourite EP that I’ve released to date. The song ‘the fire in your eyes keeps me warm’ is also my favourite song I’ve written so far. This project as a whole is very special to me and I’m very proud of it. I think the production is a big step up, and I believe my fans will love it just as much as I do.”
Powfu has also unveiled the official video for “when the hospital was my home” today. The powerful and cinematic visual follows the relationship between a young boy and his mother and closes with an unexpected cameo from Powfu.
The new EP comes hot on the heels of Powfu’s massive 2020 hit song “death bed (coffee for your head)” featuring beabadoobee officially being certified Double Platinum with over 2 BILLION worldwide streams. The addictive hit song blasted Powfu to the forefront of the music scene this year, positioning him as one of the main pioneers bringing the lo-fi genre to the mainstream. The song got its first big push on TikTok, where it currently has over 6 MILLION clips using the sound. TRACK LIST
