Ocean Alley are back in the UK to deliver their best shows yet

Having dropped their latest album, Low Altitude Living, in 2022, Ocean Alley hit the road for their headline tour in summer 2023. Now, the excitement builds as they announce their return to the UK in September 2024, just as their six-times platinum hit “Confidence” continues its viral ascent. With an impressive 1.69 million global daily streams and a staggering 293 million total streams, the track has resonated far and wide, even catching the attention of celebrities like David Beckham and Snoop Dogg, as well as major sports organizations such as FC Barcelona and Wimbledon.

"We love playing in the UK; the crowd always brings it, and we can’t wait to be back for even more shows this summer!" the band enthusiastically shares about their upcoming tour.

Joining them will be fellow Aussie surf rock duo Hockey Dad, known for their infectious energy and recent album Brain Candy, which peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Their new album, Rebuild Repeat, is set to drop this summer.

As one of Australia’s most thrilling musical exports, Ocean Alley captivates audiences worldwide with their dynamic performances and memorable melodies. Comprising Baden Donegal (vocals), Angus Goodwin (guitar), Lach Galbraith (keys/vocals), Mitch Galbraith (guitar), Tom O’Brien (drums), and Nic Blom (bass), this six-piece band has amassed over 800 million streams across four critically acclaimed albums. Their journey, marked by a commitment to creativity and independence, has seen them sell over 80,000 tickets globally for their headline shows in 2023 alone.

Back in London, last time you were in town you played at Lafayette!

We love being here, the energy from the crowd was electric. It felt amazing to connect with fans in such a vibrant city.

How do crowds in the UK differ from those back in Australia?

There’s definitely a unique vibe in the UK. The crowds here are a bit different; they bring their own energy that feels really special. We love how enthusiastic they are, and it makes every show memorable.

Your song "Confidence" has seen phenomenal success. What does it mean to you? "Confidence" is all about embracing who you are and being comfortable in your skin. It’s rewarding to see it resonate with so many people. The track has really taken on a life of its own! It just went 6x platinum which is insane to us. It was supposed to be a b-side to the project and instead it got massive! We're so happy and grateful!

Can you share a bit about your latest album, Low Altitude Living?

The album reflects our experiences during the pandemic. It gave us time to slow down, write, and really connect with our music. The title captures the essence of being back home by the beach, which was a grounding experience for us.

You played an unrealeased song last night called "Tangerine". What is the message?

“Tangerine” has a light, upbeat feel, inspired by our move from the East Coast to the West Coast of Australia. It’s about the journey we took and the personal experiences we had along the way—definitely a fun one to play live!

What can fans expect from your upcoming UK tour?

We’re really excited about this tour! Fans can look forward to a mix of our entire catalog, including some unreleased tracks. We’ve extended our set time to give everyone a little extra, and it’s going to be a great experience!

What’s next for Ocean Alley after this tour?

After the UK shows, we’ll take a short break before heading back to Australia for some festivals. We’ve also been working on new music, so expect more singles and an album next year!

With their infectious spirit and dedication to their craft, Ocean Alley is sure to make waves in the UK and beyond. Don’t miss the chance to catch them live!
