Marylebone brimmed with excitement on Monday the 16th September as a significant crowd gathered to watch talented individuals showcase their designs at the JCA fashion show.
The uniqueness of each designers’ lines powerfully reinforced to each member of the audience the infinite possibilities contemporary fashion has to offer. The entire show was a masterclass for the audience and clearly showed JCA’s commitment to nurturing new talents within the industry, whilst providing an insight into the future of fashion design. Exploration and individualism were evident through every collection presented, and each was a pleasure to witness.
The designs shown throughout the evening were a fantastic mix of colour as well as personal expression with each bringing a different energy to the runway. One designer whose collection particularly captured my attention was Sabine Hussain who showcased a range of dresses that featured exquisite detailing.
These bold designs vividly created a kaleidoscope of visual expression and of the unique fusion between South Asian heritage and contemporary Western fashion which the brand is renowned for. Her accessorising of the looks also stood out with dramatic, statement head pieces adding to the aesthetic.
VIA CIAURI was another standout for me, as they seamlessly blended their Sicilian heritage with inspiration from around the world, turning it into a stunning selection of runway-ready looks. The use of neutral colours throughout the collection beautifully captured a sense of sophistication and minimalism while contrasting it with understated luxury.
Drawing inspiration from her grandad a WW2 spy, Eleanor Hunter produced a collection that masterfully centred around this theme. Their mission to seamlessly redefine luxury menswear with by infusing mystery and adventure into their garments was abundantly clear and, in my opinion, highly successful. The use of deeper colours highlighted the dark, perplexing aspects of the collection with precision which resonated throughout her entire selection of looks.
Overall, the fashion show was a resounding success, offering an enlightening display of creativity and individuality that surely left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to attend. The JCA Association masterfully showcased a wide range of emerging talents within the industry, providing them with the perfect platform to showcase their new collections.
Held in one of London’s key fashion districts, the collections underpinned the exciting new direction that the fashion industry is headed. Thank you to JCA for having me, it was an incredible evening!
