Sunderland City Council is delighted to announce north-east audience favourite Jack Savoretti as the opening headliner to perform at the inaugural Lamplight Festival next summer.
The festival takes place in the beautiful setting of Mowbray Park, before the historic backdrop of the Winter Gardens and Sunderland Museum, and located right in the city centre. He will headline the newly added date on Friday 5th August 2022.
This additional date means Jack joins previously announced headliners Kaiser Chiefs (Saturday 6) and Deacon Blue (Sunday 7) for this three-day celebration of music which takes place from 5-7th August 2022. The festival was postponed two years in a row due to Covid restrictions.
Victoria French, Assistant Director of Culture and Events, said: "At last, all those patient fans who have held onto tickets from last year and beyond will get their chance to see headliners Kaiser Chiefs and Deacon Blue in a lovely parkland setting next summer bang in the middle of Sunderland’s City Centre at Mowbray Park.
"And now we are super-thrilled that the incredible Jack Savoretti has agreed to perform."
Jack Savoretti’s seventh album Europiana scored him a second #1 album this summer. His previous album, Singing to Strangers also reached #1 in the UK charts. This artist is someone audiences are really taking to their heart.
Europiana captures the spirit of the songs and the sun-soaked influences they absorb. Think Riviera glamour and Italian elegance. Grab a rosé – heck, the whole bottle – to spur memories of lunches that last until dusk and heading home with loved ones to dance until dawn.
Tickets for Jack Savoretti are set to go on sale on Friday 3rd December from 9am.
They will be available from See Tickets
