Alex Warren at The Lexington – A Night of Emotion and Fun

Alex Warren's performance at The Lexington on September 22nd was a captivating blend of raw emotion, humor, and undeniable musical talent. The night kicked off with a fun moment when Warren claimed he had a $100 bet with his wife that he could make it to the bathroom and back within a minute. The audience happily participated, clearing a path as his crew timed the attempt. Although he didn’t make it, the playful interaction set the tone for an evening that balanced deep emotion with lighthearted energy.

Warren’s music often explores heavy themes—particularly the loss of loved ones, especially family—but the mood of the night was anything but somber. Through casual banter and personal anecdotes, Warren created a relaxed, engaging atmosphere while never losing sight of the emotional weight behind his songs. Throughout the night, he made several jokes about having a predominantly female audience, teasing that the men in the room were often dragged there by their girlfriends. However, a glance around the venue revealed a different story. Many men were singing just as loudly and having just as much fun, proving that Warren’s music truly resonates across demographics. His songs are universal, connecting with people regardless of who they are at their core. The authenticity in his music indicates that he is destined for great things.

The setlist featured some of Warren's biggest songs, including "Before You Leave Me." However, one of the night’s most touching moments came with the performance of "You'll Be Alright Kid," an unreleased track from his upcoming album. Before performing the song, Warren shared a personal story, revealing that in interviews, he’s often asked what he would say to his younger self. Reflecting on his difficult past, he mentioned that despite the struggles he faced, those experiences led him to where he is today, including meeting his wife, Kouvr. That sentiment became the inspiration for "You'll Be Alright Kid," which ultimately became not just the title of the song but the title of his upcoming album.

Warren also shared that his upcoming album will be split into chapters, with the first ten songs set to release soon on September 27th, followed by Chapter Two hopefully in February next year. He humorously remarked that mentioning February publicly would hold him and his label accountable to meet that deadline, adding a light-hearted touch to the anticipation.

The most intimate part of the evening came when Warren switched to a more stripped-back, acoustic section. He brought out a strikingly unique Gibson guitar—its body decorated with hand-painted details featuring yellow flowers, hummingbirds, and butterflies. The stunning design added a personal and artistic touch to the performance, complementing the raw, emotional tone of the acoustic set. His vocals took center stage during these moments, showcasing both his control and emotional delivery. While artists with a social media background are sometimes underestimated in terms of musical ability, Warren's talent was undeniable—his vocal range, clarity, and connection to the lyrics were all on full display.

After the main set, Warren returned for an encore that included two final songs, one being his newly released single, "Burning Down." He played the track twice—once before and once after the encore—and the crowd was electric both times. Despite the song’s recent release, the audience erupted with energy, singing along passionately as if it were a well-worn favorite. "Burning Down" proved to be a show-stopper, its powerful lyrics and driving melody leaving a lasting impact on the evening.

Warren’s authenticity, vocal skill, and musical talent make him an artist to watch closely. He not only excels in conveying deep emotions through his lyrics but also brings a high level of musicality to his performances.
