Since Wolf Alice's long-anticipated return to the music scene in 2025, the past 18 months have felt like a dream come true for every fan—including me! We’ve had so much to celebrate: their phenomenal new album, The Clearing, dropped in 2025; they embarked on a much-needed headline UK arena tour; wowed crowds at unforgettable festivals across the country and beyond; and, to top it all off, they won Group of the Year at this year’s BRIT Awards.

With all of this in mind, many of us had been waiting (impatiently!) and wondering when we’d get to see one of the UK’s best bands back in our region. Thankfully, our prayers were answered this summer when Wolf Alice finally made a triumphant return to the Toon as part of the ‘In The Park’ concert series at Exhibition Park.

Excitement buzzed in the air as hundreds of music fans gathered to give Ellie, Joff, Theo, and Joel the warmest Tyneside welcome. The band clearly felt the love, visibly thrilled to reconnect with a place that’s shown them so much loyalty over the years. This wasn’t just a concert—it was a joyful celebration of the special bond Wolf Alice share with everyone in the crowd, whether you’ve been a fan for years or just discovered their music.

Wolf Alice always go above and beyond to deliver a show to remember. With their signature style, electrifying stage presence, and a dash of sparkle, they took us on a journey through their greatest hits—the songs that every rock fan has on their daily playlists. Crowd favourites like Formidable Cool, Yuk Foo, and Smile had everyone singing along, and we were also treated to incredible new tracks from The Clearing, including Bloom Baby Bloom, Just Two Girls, and The Sofa.

With the FIFA World Cup taking over this summer, Wolf Alice made sure to give a special shout-out to Dan Burn—going the extra mile by dedicating Bros to him, which sparked a massive cheer from the crowd.

Before leaving the stage, Theo and Ellie promised it wouldn’t be too long before they returned. They closed out the night in style with a crème de la crème encore—treating us to Moaning Lisa Smile and Giant Peach.

With the sun shining down and good vibes flowing, this truly felt like a special evening—one that will leave us with incredible memories for years to come.
